Carifta here will inspire local kids

Cayman Islands will be hosting the 2010 CARIFTA Games, the first major tournament it will stage since the re-opening of the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.

The Cayman Islands hosted the CARIFTA Games for the first time in 1995 and organisers are excited about hosting them again next year.

Twenty-six countries from the Caribbean will be participating in the games and for the first time they will serve as a regional qualifier for the World Youth Olympic Games.

More details will be revealed after the official press launch next week.
