Cayman Masters made a presentation to Cayman HospiceCare of $800. Stephen Best, vice-president of the Masters club, gave the cheque to Katherine Cushman. This was a tenth of the proceeds they had from a club raffle to raise money for their trip to the Bahamas over the holiday weekend. Fifty-five players, officials and supporter travelled and they played two matches there.
The Masters have been on tour to Florida and Jamaica in the past.
Sheila Rankine is secretary of the Masters Club. She said: ‘We did this because we wanted to donate to a non-profit organisation. It was only going to be five per cent, which was $400 but we decided to double it to $800. We randomly picked a worthy cause and thought the hospice was the right charity because they look after people who have cancer or are terminally ill.
