Stacey Christensen ‘coooome on down to the Cayman Islands!’
That’s exactly what the Idaho Falls woman says she’s going to do after winning her dream vacation on ‘The Price is Right’.
A five night all inclusive getaway for two at the Reef Resort in East End was the featured prize destination
Mrs. Christensen says it all started with a business trip to California in August when she decided to sit in on a taping of the popular game show.
She says it was a complete shock to hear ‘Stacey Christensen come on down you’ve been selected as the next contestant.’
The millions, who watched the Monday, 16 November show, know the fitness instructor didn’t just make it out of the studio audience; but onto the stage and into the final round, where she says she won big.
The showcase showdown grand prize winner walked away with 40 thousand dollars in prizes but says it’s the trip to the Islands that means the most to her.
‘We have never been to Cayman, my husband and I have been looking on line researching everything and the Island looks truly beautiful.’
Game Show Frenzy
The Price is Right isn’t the only game show that Cayman is popping up on.
The Islands will play a key role is a featured puzzle on a segment of ‘Wheel of Fortune’ airing 7 December.
According to the Department of Tourism it’s not unusual to receive requests from private sector partners to offer vacation prizes adding since game shows air over a full season there are plenty of opportunities for the Cayman Islands to be featured as the prize destination.
‘The level of exposure is dependent on the prize value and the decision on whether or not to participate rests with the individual travel or tourism partner,’ said Gina Matthews Manager of Public Relations.
Luckily, the price was right for Mrs. Christensen who said ‘We are truly ecstatic about the trip.’
