While lots of people are complaining that the world is going to Hell, a significant number from the local
scene will purposely be headed in that direction on Sunday.
Of course, they don’t plan to spend a long time there. In fact, they hope not to stop at all, but to get the Hell out and head back for Calico Jack’s.
It is anticipated that the Devil himself will be on hand to spur them on at the turnaround point. It’s time to on the To Hell and Back Pirates Week 10k run.
Participants must register on Saturday between noon and 5pm at the Department of Sports Office in Queen’s Court on West Bay Road.
Entry fee is CI$25. Awards will be presented to the first three overall male and female finishers and top male and female performers in age groups under 19,20-29,30-39,40-49,50-59,and 60-plus.
A large number of random prizes will also be distributed and breakfast at Calico Jack’s is also included. Event shirts are also part of the deal.
Start time on Sunday is 7am opposite Plantana on West Bay Road.
The route follows West Bay Road, Town Hall Road, Hell Road to the turnaround point at the Devil’s Hangout, and retraces itself to the finish at Calico Jack’s.
This popular event has already been received from competitors from California, Chicago, Dallas, Cincinnati and New York.
