We are touched by the fishing tragedy over the weekend as we read the newspaper.
Our hearts go out to the families of all those concerned. We ask that many prayers are offered on their behalf and that they be comforted in this hour.
A special request to the police department is to please make more stringent rules for boaters and fishermen. Some of these accidents do not need to happen. In order to save lives, please put some stiff safety rules in place regarding these canoes and the distance they are permitted or limited to travel in and around the island legally; it maybe that the size of the boat was not sufficient to travel all around the entire Island. Could someone advise us please how to avoid future mishaps?
