Kids cut up well

Saturday marks the next week of The
Security Centre Youth Flag Football League.

In its second year the league is
currently ongoing at the Camana
Bay sports field.

Aimed at boys and girls aged seven
to 17 years old the league has seen some 150 kids register.

Saturday marks the third week of
the league and will see kids broken up into teams and performing scrimmages.

The 13 and over age group is first
in action from 9:30am to 11:30am. The 10-12 year old kids take the field
11:30am-1:30pm. Lastly 1:30pm-3pm sees the 7-9 year-olds in play.

As Kyle Broadhurst, league
organizer, states Saturday is about connecting the kids and coaches.

“It’s about kids getting to know
coaches, being taught plays, learning positions and just covering all the basics.”

The first two weekends were geared
towards league registration and skill assessment.

Actual games are slated to take
place next Saturday and last for weeks.
