Well done Drew Brees for leading
the New Orleans Saints to your totally unexpected Super Bowl win.
Hope you don’t now fall into
obscurity like many successful football teams do in their post-championship
year. Brees is doing the celebrity rounds at the moment. He should enjoy it
whilst it lasts because he’s unlikely to taste such success again.
Peyton Manning has flattered to
deceive this season, even though he captured the MVP for a record fourth time.
He won Super Bowl back in the day but is obviously just a one-hit wonder.
He certainly didn’t look like an
MVP on Sunday. A touch of over confidence there, it looks like, especially when
he so carelessly threw that appalling interception at the end to seal it for
the Saints who went marching into the record books.
The Big Easy must still be
celebrating. Nice touch, only a few years after Hurricane Katrina demolished
New Orleans. It was a storm of a different kind that surged through Bourbon
Street – and what a wonderful testimony to not just the team’s resilience but
also the whole city’s too.
