Scotia revive their relays after seven year absence

There has been an upsurge of road
races in recent months so it’s no surprise that the Scotia Relays are back after
an absence of several years.

The event is scheduled for 25
February at the Truman Bodden Stadium, starting at 6pm.

It is primarily a fundraiser with
all entry proceeds going towards staging the CARIFTA Championships over the
Easter weekend.

Organiser Roger Davies said: “The
relay is designed to attract participants of all standards of fitness, runners,
joggers and walkers, with five in each team each completing a one mile leg.

“The course runs around the
Liguanea subdivision close to the stadium, and the start and finish of each leg
is in the stadium.

“This is a fun event, and although
no t-shirts are provided, there will be $3,000 worth of random prizes available
for anyone to win, in addition to trophies for the winning teams.”

Further information including
entry forms, route map and race directions can be obtained online from
or from Customer Services at any Scotiabank branch. Queries should be directed
