Scholars are well ahead

Scholars International are clearly
ahead on their way to lifting the 2009-2010 championship of the Cayman Islands
Football Association (CIFA) Premier League competition with thirty-six points
in hand according to the most recent league tables tabulated by the CIFA
office.

The West
Bay many time champions despite their
draw with Bodden last Sunday in North Side remained on top with ten points
ahead of Bodden Town
and George Town
who has twenty-six points each. Tigers after losing some of their points in
disciplinary action are on twenty-five followed by defending champions Elite
who has nineteen, Sunset and Future are next with sixteen points each while
Roma remains at the bottom with fourteen points.

Last weekend Roma defeated Future 1-0
with a goal from substitute Ronald “Old School” Emanuel in the 80th minute at
the Annex. In the game played earlier George
Town defeated Elite 4-1. Scoring for George Town was Garth Anderson in the 14th
minute, Tex Whitelock in the 26th and 32nd minute and Gustavo Aluisio in the
80th minute.

In North Side, Tigers beat Sunset
2-1. Carlos Powery and Richard Grant scored in the 15th and 34th minute respectively
while Christopher Ordolis netted in the 53rd minute.  

The game between Scholars
international and Bodden
Town ended 2-2.

This Sunday at the Annex Bodden
Town faces Future in a
live televised game at 7:00pm and at 5:00pm Sunset will face Roma.

At the G.Haig Bodden Sports Centre
Scholars International will meet Elite at 7:00pm and at the Ed Bush Stadium
George Town encounters Tigers at 7:00pm.
