Dominos top league

Last weekend saw the end of the
regular season for women’s basketball.

The Cayman Islands Real Estate
Brokers Association National Women’s League saw week nine wrap up on Sunday.

The Arts and Recreation Center
witnessed Dominos Lady Heels claim the regular season crown by beating the Home
Gas Flames 62-44. Dominos come out with a 6-1 mark while Home Gas are 4-4.

Dionne Anglin came up big for the
Lady Heels with 25 points and 24 rebounds while Kamilla Nagy had 16 points and
an incredible 16 steals (also a league high).

Welly’s Cool Spot ended their
season campaign on a positive note with their first win after beating the
Silver Bullets 60-56. Welly’s still end up in the cellar though at 1-6 while Silver
Bullets are just above at 3-4.

Christina McLean was the heroine
for Welly’s with 11 points and two steals while April Ebanks had 10 points and
10 rebounds.

League playoffs are slated to take
place next Thursday from 6:15pm. Top ranked Dominos battle Welly’s while Home
Gas slug it out with the Silver Bullets.

The best-of-three league finals
start next Sunday at 6pm with game two on Thursday March 18 and game three (if
necessary) on Sunday March 21.

Before that comes the
all-star break this weekend. An All-Star game and three-point shootout competition
will highlight the weekend’s worth of action.
