All stars hop into action

Local women’s basketball is gearing
up for its playoffs next week.

Before that the all star
festivities take place this weekend.

Tomorrow night sees the Three Point
Shootout and All Star Game at the Arts and Recreation
Center at Camana Bay.

Cayman’s best deep threats shoot
the lights out at 6pm while the stars take the court at 7pm.

On display will be the top players
and shooters of the Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association National
Women’s League.

On Wednesday the Cayman
Islands basketball Association released the names of the
participants, split up into All Star White and All Star Blue teams.

Headlining the White team is five
players from the Dominos Lady Heels (who won the regular season title at 7-1).
Those ladies are Dionne Anglin, Courtisha Ebanks, Sarah Kidd, Kamilla Nagy and
Benecia Thompson.

Joining them from 2-6 Welly’s are
Amber Watson, Christina McLean, Felecia Connor and Latorae Nixon.

Theresa Hamil of the 3-5 Silver
Bullets rounds out the team list.

On team blue is Bobeth O’Garro,
Scimone Campbell, Stacy Kelly and Christsania McLean of the Silver Bullets;
Cassiane Lawrence, Lauren Keller, Lauri Webster and Lauri Frye of the 4-4 Home
Gas Flames and Chloe Powery and Letanya Thompson of Welly’s Cool Spot.
