Environmental awareness gets boost

The Water Authority Board is
sponsoring the Annual Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce ‘Earth Day Road Side
Clean Up’ with a $1,000 donation.

The cleanup programme is intended
to raise awareness in the community about the need to keep Cayman clean and
healthy for future generations.

The Water Authority is the
statutory authority responsible for the management of water and wastewater in
the Cayman Islands.

“The Authority is acutely aware of
its social and environmental responsibility to the larger community and we
believe that this initiative provides an opportunity for us to play our part in
keeping our Islands clean and attractive,” said Water Authority Board Chairman
Jonathan Piercy.

“We applaud the efforts of the
Chamber and hope that our contribution will assist in making this event a true
success.”

Chamber CEO Wil Pineau welcomed the
sponsorship.

“This is their fifth year as a sponsor of this
particular programme and they are a shining example of how local companies can
contribute to making Cayman a better place for us all,” he said.
