West Bayers enjoy new vibe

The district sports initiative has
been a great success in both districts.

Heavy turnout and phenomenal
camaraderie are two of the staples of the ongoing volleyball leagues.

This weekend was no different in
the finale of the league in East End.

Prior to league finale the West Bay
league has seen plenty of solid competition over the weeks with many teams
coming through with solid results.

The standings of the West Bay
Community Sports Volleyball League saw much change after the league held
matches in its Youth divisions two Saturdays ago at the John A. Cumber primary

Kids and adults of all ages came
out to participate in and support the district’s newly formed league. The top
two teams from the Youth turned out to be the “Incredibles” (5-3, 13
points) and the “Warriors” (4-4, 12 points) who battled for the youth
league championship.

In the Adult league, “Above
the Net” and “West Bay Spikers” play for the championship
while “North West Pointers” and “Future SC” squared off
for third place.

As of March 6 the league standings showed the
West Bay Spikers were the top adult team at 3-2. In second was Future SC at
3-2, Above The Net sat third at 3-1-1, North West Pointers were fourth at 2-3,
Scholars SC was fifth at 2-2-1 and in sixth the Matadors at 1-4.
