LIME swim was postponed

Even though the volleyball
tournament went off fine over the weekend the choppy waters on Seven Mile Beach
meant the postponement of the first open water swim of the year.

The Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming
Association had planned to stage the second annual LIME 800 metres Sea Swim on
Saturday from Governor’s Beach, the first of five at that distance for the

It will now go ahead on 10 April,
assuming, of course, the sea is calmer then.

The following week is the Cayman
Brac 800m swim on 17 April.

Bill McFarland, president of the
Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Assocation, said: “We took the decision to postpone
the Lime 800m sea swim because of the poor weather.

“A late season cold front came
through and mucked up our plans. Poor visibility and swell at Seven Mile Beach made
it too dangerous.”
