Hook’s, Bed, Home: now what?

New restaurant to open at Treasure Island

The restaurant at Treasure Island formerly
known as Hooks, Athena’s, Bed and most recently Home, will be reopening its
doors with another new look toward the end of April.

Neil Bryington said that the
restaurant was a new partnership and that it was currently in the process of
being revamped.

“We’ve joined ventures with Mr
Sydney Coleman and the group that’s doing it and we hope to be open by the end
of April.

“We’ve started reconstruction with
the things that we want to change around and it is being refurbished inside and
outside,” said Mr. Bryington.

The venture will be under new
management, but Mr Bryington said that the new concept will be kept under wraps
until closer the opening date. The restaurant will be opening initially only in
the evenings.

“It’s something that doesn’t exist
really on the island at the moment and does not clash with anything else
on-island,” he added, confirming that it would remain a fully-licensed
premises.

Licensing board

At the last meeting of the Liquor
Licensing Board of Grand Cayman, held on Thursday 4 March, Mr Bryington was
granted permission to change licensee for a Restaurant Liquor License to Simon
Welds.

At the meeting, Mr Welds said that
initially he intended to change the location of the license to the Marquee
Centre on West Bay Road,
but that location had proved to be in an inconvenient spot from which to
operate a new venture, according to information he had received from his team.

He said that he was
also considering ‘a location on Seven
Mile Beach’
and at the time he had spoken to a landlord there about possibilities.
Therefore the application for change of location was withdrawn until he could
have a chance to analyse it further.
