Women honoured through the arts

The Family Resource Centre in
partnership with the Brickhouse Restaurant presented, “Honouring Women Through
the Arts Exhibit” and silent auction at Grand Harbour.

As part of Honouring Women Month, The
event was organised to showcase some of the artistic talents of women in the
Cayman Islands as well as to raise funds for the artists and the Family
Resource Centre.

Featured performers on the evening
included Rita Estavanovich, who entertained the audience with a poem titled,
“Just long Celia, as well as Jamesette Anglin, who wowed visitors with her classic
voice singing, “I am Blessed,” by Rachel Lampa.

In addition, a poem titled “I
didn’t Know” was performed by Lorna Bush and live music was provided by Pam
Burgess and the Suite Elite Trio.

As part of the celebration of the
empowerment of women and appreciation of their artistic expression, the event
also saw a dance performance by Kristina Wright.

Following the entertainment, those
on hand were also able to participate in the silent auction and enjoy

Programme Facilitator for the
Family Resource Centre Miriam Foster, said “The evening was a great success and
given that women are making history all the time, it is good when the community
focuses on various parts of their lives.”
