Acid House

Meanwhile, a planned Perfecto At
Sea dance music cruise has been rescheduled for early 2011.  It will again sail from Tampa to Cayman, with host Paul Oakenfold
putting together a line-up of dance music bands and club DJs. The acid house
pioneer first operated under the Perfecto moniker alongside fellow DJ Pete Tong
in the 19902, remixing a host of artists including Massive Attack.

In 2008 he was resident DJ at Rain
Nightclub in las Vegas
and during 2009 he opened for Madonna on tour.

Perfecto at Sea is described as ‘an
unparalleled floating electronic music festival’ that delivers ‘a cutting edge,
music-meets leisure experience’. The rescheduled dates are yet to be announced
by organisers, Sixthman Events.

Best cruise ever

VH1 Best Cruise ever, hosted by 3
Doors Down and featuring Lifehouse and Shinedown amongst others, sails from Tampa on 15 April,
reaching Cayman on Saturday, 17 April. There are no confirmed official plans
for any musical events, signings or personal appearances on shore at this

Curators 3 Doors Down are currently
preparing new material for album recording sessions that are slated to take
place later this year. The multi-platinum band told the Caymanian Compass that
they are ready to rock out and relax during their visit.

“I live in Miami
so I love being near the water and I’ve spent a lot of time in the Caribbean. I’m looking forward to coming to Cayman, I’m
sure it’s a beautiful place; I love being on the beach and the salt and the
sand are definitely my cup of tea,” said guitarist Matt Roberts.
