Kid Rock will be bringing a motley
crew of bands and DJs on a cruise to Cayman next month.
Kid Rock’s Chillin’ the Most cruise
sails from Tampa on 29 April and hits Cayman on Saturday, 1 May where the
Carnival Inspiration ship will be in port between 7am and 4pm.
Kid Rock will be hosting as well as
performing and the line-up of other artists includes Uncle Kracker, Rehab, Micky
Avalon, Pop Evil, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights and many more.
On board the $799 cruise there will
be costume nights including Pimps & Hos Night and, appropriately, Pirate
Night. Other activities include a ‘flip cup’ tournament, Go Go dance and lap

five Grammy awards over a career that has seen him sell more than 22 million
albums in the United States
Meanwhile, a planned Perfecto At
Sea dance music cruise has been rescheduled for early 2011. It will again sail from Tampa to Cayman, with host Paul Oakenfold
putting together a line-up of dance music bands and club DJs. The acid house
pioneer first operated under the Perfecto moniker alongside fellow DJ Pete Tong
in the 19902, remixing a host of artists including Massive Attack.
In 2008 he was resident DJ at Rain
Nightclub in las Vegas
and during 2009 he opened for Madonna on tour.
Perfecto at Sea is described as ‘an
unparalleled floating electronic music festival’ that delivers ‘a cutting edge,
music-meets leisure experience’. The rescheduled dates are yet to be announced
by organisers, Sixthman Events.
Best cruise ever
VH1 Best Cruise ever, hosted by 3
Doors Down and featuring Lifehouse and Shinedown amongst others, sails from Tampa on 15 April,
reaching Cayman on Saturday, 17 April. There are no confirmed official plans
for any musical events, signings or personal appearances on shore at this
Curators 3 Doors Down are currently
preparing new material for album recording sessions that are slated to take
place later this year. The multi-platinum band told the Caymanian Compass that
they are ready to rock out and relax during their visit.
“I live in Miami
so I love being near the water and I’ve spent a lot of time in the Caribbean. I’m looking forward to coming to Cayman, I’m
sure it’s a beautiful place; I love being on the beach and the salt and the
sand are definitely my cup of tea,” said guitarist Matt Roberts.
