Former India captain Kapil Dev has
repeated what many in the cricket fraternity are saying, that Sachin
Tendulkar’s decision to not play in the World T20 Championships in the
Caribbean is depriving fans of his special talents.
Tendulkar has been a revelation in
the current Indian Premier League.
“It is very surprising that Tendulkar is fit
enough to play the 43-day long IPL but cannot represent the country in the T20
World Cup,” Kapil said.
Tendulkar, who recently became the
first man to score a double-century in one-day cricket, has played just one
Twenty20 international in his 21-year, record-breaking career.
The Mumbai star, who turns 37 next
month, is under pressure from former players who want him to play when it the
World T20 Championships start in St Lucia on 30 April, following a string of
high scores in both Test and one-day cricket.
