CARIFTA flagged up

The start of the biggest week in
Cayman track and field history began with a ceremonial CARIFTA flag relay
around the island on Saturday.

It began at the Smith Road Oval at
7am and teams took up the flag at one mile intervals all the way around Grand
Cayman to Kaibo before being sailed across the North Sound by Donald McLean,
president of the Olympic Committee, handed to Premier McKeeva Bush and ending
up at the Truman Bodden Sports Stadium at 3pm.
