Cayman Airways has centralised
their reservations call centres to a single Grand Cayman office.
Previously, the calls were handled
at two separate locations and this move to one office is expected to save the
airline US$300,000 per year.
The national carrier said that
technology now allowed calls both from the US toll-free number and the local
reservations centre to be routed through to one location, without additional
cost to Cayman Airways.
In an advisory, Cayman Airways said
that in addition to the efficient streamlining of call operations, the new
technology offered added flexibility as reservations agents could now answer
calls from any location worldwide.
“This ability to answer calls from
anywhere, along with equipment redundancy, is part of a natural disaster
contingency plan for the airline.
“Since late 2009, calls have been
seamlessly rotated between the Miami and Grand
Cayman call centres and for more than a year, reservations agents on Grand
Cayman have been assisting customers calling both the local reservations line
and the US
toll free number.
“Customers can therefore continue
to expect the same high quality of customer service which Cayman Airways is
committed to providing, and we look forward to continuing to serve our valued
customers,” said the release.
The local reservations number is
949 2311 and the United
States toll free number is 1-800-G-Cayman.
