Jessie rides into CAC

The Cayman Islands Equestrian
Federation is celebrating its good news that it has its first equestrian rider who
has qualified for the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Jessica McTaggart on her horse Ray
of Light earned their last two qualifying scores, sealing their place at the Games
in Puerto Rico in July.

They will compete in the individual
dressage competition, riding the International Equestrian Federation
Intermediate 1 test.

McTaggart received a 66 per cent
score at Prix St. Georges, Florida and a 63 per cent at the Intermediate 1
level, both of which surpassed the qualifying standards set by the CIEF of a 60
per cent at both levels.

McTaggart has been training in the
US in Watkinsville, Georgia with trainer Cynthia Thaxton at High Point since
January when she acquired Ray.

She also frequently clinics with
Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel of First Choice Farm in Woodbine, Maryland.

They will continue to show in the
US including a big show in May at the Kentucky Horse Park.

McTaggart is blogging about
this journey and can be followed at
