Caribbean Marketplace to be held in Jamaica

A significant trade show and
conference is to be held in Montego Bay in
2011.

Caribbean Marketplace is the
region’s largest tourism marketing event and takes place in Jamaica from 16
to 18 January.

It is organised by the Caribbean
Hotel and Tourism Association, a long-standing body that has represented the
hospitality’s private sector for nearly 60 years.

The association is comprised of 36 national
hotel associations, 850 hotel members and more than 600 supplier companies.

Coup

The Jamaican Hotel and Tourism
Association President Wayne Cummings said that it was a significant coup for Jamaica.

“Caribbean Marketplace is he most important
marketing event for this region and we are extremely pleased to bring it to Jamaica once
more, an event that amplifies our credibility as a major tourism destination.”

The 2010 conference was held at San Juan, Puerto Rico,
where the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism had a booth and met with many of
their industry partners for strategy update discussions and to talk about possible
future link-ups with new partners.
