Tortuga comes out tops

Tortuga Aged Rums have won two Rum
Masters Awards from the “The Spirits Business” magazine.

Tortuga 5-Year Old Gold Rum and
Tortuga 12-Year Old Gold Rum received the honours in the Rum Masters 2010
tasting challenge held by the European spirits trade magazine.  

Tortuga 5-Year Old Rum received the
highest level awarded, the title of “Master” in the Gold >7 Years category.
Tortuga 12-Year Old Rum received Gold in the Gold 8-12Yr category.

The annual Spirits Masters Awards
are conducted by “The Spirits Business”, the only international trade title
solely dedicated to the global spirits business. The rum category was added in
2009 to this highly respected industry competition, with the 2010 Rum Masters
winners announced in the April issue of ‘The Spirits Business”.

“We are delighted that our aged
rums were so successful in this prestigious international competition,” said founder
of the Tortuga Rum Company, Ltd. Robert Hamaty.

“These are exquisite sipping rums. We

Tortuga 5-Year Old Gold Rum and
12-Year Gold Rum both won Gold Medals and Best of Category in the 2007 International
Cane Spirits Tasting Competition, held in Tampa, Florida.  The 12-Year Old
Rum also has earned a Two Star Superior Taste Award from the International
Taste & Quality Institute in Brussels, Belgium. (The Tortuga 5-Year Rum was
not entered.)
