The Cayman Islands Real Estate
Brokers Association recently donated CI$5,000 to the Pines Retirement
“CIREBA’s support to The Pines Retirement Home
is just one of several local charities that we have been able to offer assistance
to this year,” said Jeremy Hurst of International Realty Group Ltd. and
President of CIREBA.
“We feel it is important that organizations
such as CIREBA put back into the community – a strong and stable community
benefits us all,” he continued.
“The Pines provides an invaluable
service to the senior members of Cayman’s society and CIREBA is proud to be
able to offer them this token of our support”
All donations are greatly
appreciated by the Pines as it runs at a monthly deficit and relies on
donations and fund-raising to cover the shortfall.
The Pines Retirement Home was
opened by HM the Queen in February 1983, and provides a comfortable, healthy,
loving environment for many senior citizens.
Currently it has 38 full-time
residents and no vacancies. Two more are enrolled in the Day Care Programme,
looked after by an Activities Co-ordinator. The staff consists of a Manager, a
Supervisor and two deputies who are all registered nurses, plus 16 nursing
assistants, and 7 domestic and ancillary staff.
