Kids do international day

The
kids at Miss Nadine’s Pre-school had the chance to travel from China to
Jamaica, Scotland to Greenland and onto Guyana during their third annual
International Day recently.

For
International Day, each class represented a different country they’d studied
and classrooms were decorated with relevant cultural items including clothing
and art projects and the children presented food and songs to a large group of
visiting parents and friends.

Miss
Nadine’s Pre-school is one of the National Council of Voluntary Organizations’
many community projects, whose main focus is to ensure that children are taught
through play in a developmentally appropriate manner.

“International
day is one way we like to keep the children’s learning hands on and fun,” said
Principal Caroline Ebanks.

As the new principal of “Miss Nadine’s”
pre-school Ms Ebanks has being working with the pre-school for over 30 years
and is in fact a product of the NCVO. Afforded her scholarship through the
NCVO’s support she acquired her director/operator of pre-school degree at
Lindsey Hopkins Technical Centre in Miami.
