I would like to congratulate the
Pines on their ground breaking for the expansion of their building and wish
them luck on their endeavours as this is a very deserving project for our
elderly people and they deserve to live out their last days in comfort.
But what I don’t understand is the
rest home in Cayman Brac has been empty since Hurricane Ivan. Although the
building has been redone, it’s just an empty shell. They need everything from a
bed to kitchen stuff and government has said it doesn’t have the money to help.
No Mr. Adams is saying government
is pledging its support.
Does Mr. Adams think one rest home
deserves help when the other one is forgotten? Or do the Brackers matter to
anyone? We have three to a small room that Mr. Tibbetts built for the
residents. While our family is most grateful to Mr. Tibbetts for his gift, it
really is not big enough to hold any more. Someone has to pass away before
another can be admitted.
Do not our elderly people deserve
the same as Grand Cayman? Can someone answer this? Cayman Brackers helped to
make these Islands – especially Grand Cayman – what it is today. So please Mr.
Adams, when you are dishing out help remember the Sister Islands. Please don’t
leave us as the island time forgot.
