RoofTop and Vid Boutaie bringing upscale party vibe

With
brand new party spaces, namely the RoofTop Lounge and the Vid Boutaie, Trilogie
Plaza in Mary Street is Cayman’s newest party nexus for open air and indoor
events.

The
brainchild of local entrepreneur Donna Myrie-Stephen, the recently renovated
building boasts her business empire of Le Classique Shoe and Leather Emporium
on the ground floor, the Vid Boutaie Lounge on the second floor and the RoofTop
Terrace on the third.

The
venue, with 3,000 square feet of floor space, is available for hire for private
parties and corporate events. “Clients can organise their own events or if
they’d prefer to leave it to us, our event coordinator, Delfia, can plan it to
the last detail,” said the owner.

“The
building is right in the heart of historic Mary Street, which in the past had
many prominent businesses and homes on it,” Mrs. Myrie-Stephen said. “A lot of
businesses are located in the neighbourhood and the business centre has
extended nicely…”

The
RoofTop is the first of the two venues to open. The open air venue has
extensive views of George Town and is the home of the Friday night Sky at FIVE.

Decked
out with trendy low-slung seating, mini palm trees and gentle breezes, it’s the
latest hot spot for the city’s professionals to relax with friends and some
drinks of an evening to the sounds of resident spinmeister DJ Flex.

“We’re
catering to a wide range of musical tastes,” said the owner. “Easy reggae, old
school ‘80s, soca, there’s something for everyone,” she added. Both areas have
dress codes and come with fully stocked bars serving everything from beer to
champagne.

“We
wanted to make visiting Vid Boutaie and the RoofTop memorable experiences, ones
that clients would want to repeat, so we’ve also got valet parking and a
discreet security presence,” said Mrs. Myrie-Stephen.

While
the RoofTop venue is light and breezy to match its lofty rooftop ambience, the
Vid Boutaie (derived from ‘bouteille vide’, French for empty bottle) is
sumptuously dark with rich wood furnishings and fixtures. “Both spaces are very
different. We deliberately chose to design them to have their own vibe and are
very happy with the result,” Mrs. Myrie-Stephen said. “We plan to stage full
moon parties and themed events in the near future the area deserves great
nightspots and now, with Vid Boutaie and the RoofTop, its got them.”
