Ogier earns global recognition

Ogier, a law firm that specialises
in international finance and corporate law, has received a nod of approval from
the latest Expert Guide Series, which lists the leading investment fund lawyers
across the globe

Peter Cockhill, James Bergstrom,
and Colin MacKay (Cayman), William Simpson (Guernsey), Nicholas Plowman (Hong
Kong) and Tim Morgan and Richard Thomas (Jersey) were all named in the Guide to
the World’s Leading Investment Funds Lawyers, which is part of the Expert
Guides series, for 2010.

The guides, published by Legal
Media Group, canvas more than 3,500 senior practitioners and in-house counsel
across many jurisdictions to ascertain the leading individuals for their
practice area guides.

“To have seven of our investment
fund specialists identified as being amongst the best in the world by clients
and industry professionals alike is evidence that we continue to operate at the
forefront of the investment funds domain,” said Peter Cockhill, head of Ogier’s
Global Investment Funds Practice and Partner at the Cayman practice.

Ogier offices in the British Virgin
Islands, Cayman, Guernsey and Jersey have all achieved high rankings in legal
directories for their investment funds advice in recent years. Most recently
the Ogier Hong Kong office was placed in the top tier for investment funds
(offshore) advice by PLC Which Lawyer? recognising the growing impact the firm
has in the region. Ogier Hong Kong now has lawyers able to advise on the
British Virgin Islands, Cayman, Guernsey and Jersey law matters in the Asian
time zone.
