Motorsports is revving back on to
the sports scene this weekend. In addition to a circuit race at the local
track, a dexterity meet will shift into gear.

The Cayman Motorsports Association
will host its monthly Time Attack race on Saturday 31 July. Sponsored this
month by Valvoline, Parker’s, A1 Rentals and Toyo Tires action gets going at
7pm at the Progressive loop (by Progressive Distributors on Sparky Drive in
George Town).

As usual mandatory race registration
happens the day before with Parker’s hosting prospective racers from 7pm on
Friday 30 July. Saturday’s race comes just before a circuit demo takes the
stage at Breakers Speedway. Racers launch into action Sunday 1 August 4-6pm.
Spectators can expect to pay a CI$5 entrance fee.

Breakers Speedway owner Robert
Campbell is slated to have a number of local drivers compete in a selection of
his cars around the course. Campbell stated Sunday’s run will be the third time
circuit racing has appeared at the track.

“We have done it twice at the track
this year. The first time was part of a drag meet in May and we did another
demo a month ago. It’s always full of excitement for the spectators. The

course. It is going to be roughly one kilometre long.

“We also plan to have go-kart
racing for the kids in a children’s area so that they can come out and race
