You don’t have to get your feet wet
to find out about the ocean in two upcoming events to mark Ocean Literacy Day
on Saturday, 28 August.
To support the launch of the
Central Caribbean Marine Institute’s Ocean Literacy Project Planner and Ocean
Literacy Day, Books & Books at Camana Bay and Atlantis Submarine are
hosting events to help educate the public about the marine life that surrounds
the Cayman Islands.
Books & Books will hold an
ocean-themed morning of story-telling and crafts for the younger generations.
The event will begin at 10am, and
the marine institute will provide giveaways and a face painter for added fun.
Organisers say there is no need to
make a reservation to join the watery festivities, just come along and join
Working with the Central Caribbean
Marine Institute, Atlantis will deliver an informative commentary on ocean
literacy for all those who are interested in the ocean.
The tour is free.

There is a minimum entry age of
four years old.
The marine institute’s ocean
literacy project planner is an educational tool for primary school teachers to
teach young children about the importance of the world’s ocean.
The planner is being launched on 27
August for teachers.
