Help choose North Side pirate festival queen

The North Side Pirates Week
Committee invites everyone to help choose the district’s pirates festival queen
for the 2010 celebration on Saturday.

The costume competition is part of
a fun evening that includes a fashion show, male and female auction and
performances by North Side finalists in Cayman’s Got Talent. Venue is Driftwood
Bar and Beach, 7pm.

Judges will be watching the
participants to see how well they project the personality of the outfits they
have chosen, their poise as they introduce themselves and, what kind of
response they generate from the audience.

The winner will represent North
Side in the national costume competition and will ride at the head of the
district float in the annual parade. Taking part in the contest this year, and
wearing costumes by Vinette Glidden, are Leah LaShonna Hulse, Sherilyn Webster,
Brandi Sherieff and Mariah Forbes.

The fashion show features outfits
from Reflections, with commentary by Nicosia Lawson, Miss Cayman 2008-10.
Master of ceremonies for the evening is Austin Harris, talk show host. Cayman
Male Model Alan Dabrio will make a special guest appearance. Music is by DJ
Super Star.

Jade Dixon, a finalist with
Cayman’s got talent, will open the show with a song paying tribute to Ricardo
Ebanks, who was a stalwart supporter of North Side Pirates Week activities.
Other finalists singing are Danielle Brown, Shanae Whittaker, Shanai Allen and
Kaitlyn Dixon. Dancers are Tayquon Miller and Shemar Miller.

Ticket prices are: Adults, $10,
kids 6 – 16 are $5, and free for little kids. Gate prizes include an airline
