Residents of The Pines retirement
home recently enjoyed some meal-time company from Rotaract Blue club members.
The club’s young professionals
helped pour beverages, assisted with meals and sat and chatted with residents.
The experience was a mutually
rewarding one, by all accounts. The residents and caretakers enjoyed the
company of fresh new faces, while the Rotaract members not only had fun, but
also gained some valuable insight.
“I know we went to help them feel
loved and appreciated,” said club member Tunde McDonald, “but I think it rubbed
off on me.
“Helping them brought such a warm
feeling of joy and fulfilment. I would definitely do this again.”
Rotaract Blue is a club for
professionals between the ages of 18 and 30 who are willing to make a positive
difference in the community. The club meets every Wednesday at 6pm at the
George Town Public Library, 3rd Floor.
