RBC aids child cancer

More than 100 employees of RBC
employees, clients and the public participated in a 4.3km walk/run on 25
September to raise money for the RBC/RBTT Children’s Cancer Fund.

The event, one of many sponsored by
RBC across the Caribbean, generated at least $5,000 to help families with
children battling cancer. Organisers said pledges were still being collected,
so the total raised across the region will be released soon.

“We are grateful for the tremendous
turnout and outpouring of support by our employees, their families and the
community,” said Jason Waters, the bank’s vice president and country head of
Grand Cayman. “September [was] Children’s Cancer Awareness Month, so we’re also
pleased to aid in bringing awareness about paediatric cancer.”

The Children’s Cancer Fund has
assisted children in four countries and provided support for foreign testing of
biopsy samples, which results in quicker diagnosis and earlier treatment of
cancer.

“The fund has made a major
difference in the lives of the families helped,” said Mr. Waters. “We sincerely
thank our sponsors for their role in executing this successful event … .”

Event sponsors included Foster’s
Food Fair and Flowers Water.

Donations for the RBC/RBTT Cancer
Fund are being accepted at all RBC banking centres. For more information about
