Waterford crystal, jewellery, a
Cartier watch, a scooter, and a luxury yacht charter are among the scores of
items that will fall under the gavel at this year’s Pink Tie breast cancer
The annual dinner and auction,
which will be held at the Ritz-Carlton, on Saturday, 16 October, will feature
silent and live auctions.
“This year we have a remarkable
list of approximately 80 auction items, donated by so many fantastic local
companies and individuals. Items range from $50 to $5,000, with all proceeds
benefiting local charities,” said Kim Lund, director of the Breast Cancer
“The generosity of our sponsors and
donors are the reason our event is such a success. We are extremely
appreciative of their kindness and contribution to this worthy cause,
especially during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
Among the items to be bid on in the
live auction are a Cartier leather handbag, a Cartier women’s watch, and an
iPad from the Cayman Mac Store. There will also be a Vespa scooter from Auto
Alternative, a wine tasting event donated by Blackbeard’s, a private charter of
a 55-foot luxury yacht from Cayman Private Charters, and a charter from

pieces, hotel accommodation and jewellery, as well as gift certificates for
local restaurants, water sport activities, salons, spas and services.

America’s Got Talent sensation Barbara Padilla, a noted soprano who is also a

will be donated to breast cancer initiatives of the Lions Club of Tropical
Gardens and the Cayman Islands Cancer Society, through the newly established
Breast Cancer Foundation.
