Breeze Fusion returns with main kick from Roma

Radio Cayman and Breeze FM, organisers of the fourth Annual Breeze Fusion Two Mile Run/Walk, anticipate another successful staging next month.

“The event has received enthusiastic support again this year,” said event coordinator Paulette Conolly-Bailey, deputy director at Radio Cayman. Roma United Football Club is again supporting the event, as well as LIME Communications, the Caymanian Compass, Red Bull and Powerade. Special thanks to coach Jerry Harper and his team at Phoenix Athletic Club for assisting us again this year. We encourage other sponsors to come on board for this worthwhile event.” It is on 6 November from the John Gray High School on Walkers Road.

Since inception, part-proceeds have gone to the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, an independent, non-profit, charitable organisation. A second beneficiary is chosen each year and this year the Lions’ Club of Grand Cayman Children’s Christmas Social will benefit.

Conolly-Bailey said: “The Breeze Fusion attracts growing corporate support as well as community and international participation. This allows Radio Cayman and Breeze FM to impact positively on the lives of the members of our society who are most in need.”

Director of broadcasting, Norma McField, said: “The Breeze Fusion Run/Walk is an excellent way for us to reach out to the public and provide an avenue to promote our music station Breeze FM, which offers a great variety of music in addition to our news/weather updates. We put our slogan ‘We love our listeners’ into action. We care about our listeners and the community by extension, especially the less fortunate. I encourage everyone, particularly our listeners to come out to this family event, as we even have a pram-pushers category and it will be fun for all. They will take part in an event geared towards their physical health and support two deserving charities.”

Event registration is only $15 for adults and $10 for students. Pre-registration is at and will also be held on Saturday 30 October at the Lions Community Centre during their monthly breakfast. The final opportunity for registration comes on the morning of the event from 6:45am for a 7:30am start. The first 140 participants will receive an event T-shirt. In addition, participant medals and a gift will be given to the first 75 runners and 50 walkers as well as first three finishers in each category. Trophies will be awarded to the overall male and female winners. There will
also be random prizes.
