Marlene in both finals

Cayman’s best players came head to
head in the 2010 South Sound Squash Club championships last week with over 100
participants battling it out in the various divisions.

Club pro Dean Watson felt the event
played out exceptionally well, with some interesting results and great games.

He said: “We’re really grateful for
the support from our sponsors this year who were Cayman Physiotherapy, PD’s,
Stepping Stones, Fitness Connection, Samson & McGrath, Multi-sports &
Stuart Walker Hersant. There was some amazing athleticism from not only wonder
woman Marlene West but also Julian Jervis playing in two finals and winning.

“It was a marvellous finals night
and it’s always nice for players to relax and enjoy the last night with former
players who for some reason come out and still support these events year after
year. What a great place to be.”

West was so good that she got
through to the men’s final, losing to Caribbean junior champion Cameron
Stafford.
