Four students from North Side
Primary School became champions in the semi-finals of the Cayman Islands
Spelling Bee.
Tiona Miller, a year six student,
came in first place and Destini Bush, another year six student, placed second.
Ashley Ebanks (year six) and Emily
Mata Gozan (year five) also placed in the top four, earning a chance to compete
in next month’s island-wide championship.
Carol Nyack, the principal of North
Side Primary, said the event went off without a hitch.
“Everything went super fine,” she
said. “We are so excited about North
Side Primary students winning.”

The four finalists will participate
in the 1 December championship round of the spelling bee.
