You’ll have to moo-ve it if you
want to enter this year’s MOvember events in aid of the Cayman Islands Cancer
Society.
MOvember, the month where men can
get moustachioed up while raising money to prevent prostate cancer, is back,
and although registration deadline for the three MOvember events is officially
past the Cancer Society never turns anyone away.
MOvember participants, also known
as Mo Bros, have until the end of the month to grow and groom their facial hair
with impunity for this worthy cause.
As well as a Mid MOvember Madness
party at CaliMO Jacks on West Bay Road on Friday, 19 November, from 6pm, and
the Masquerade Ball on Friday, 3 December from 7.30pm.
The annual charity event has greatly
helped raise awareness of prostate cancer and men’s health issues in general,
said the society’s office manager, Emma Hislop. “Movember has quickly become
one of the largest fundraisers for the Cancer Society. In addition to the funds raised, one of the
great things about the event is the unique opportunity to reach the male
population and raise their awareness of prostate cancer.
“The funds raised during the month
go toward awareness programs throughout the year, screening vouchers and
financial assistance for those with prostate cancer.”
To become a Mo Bros sign up now,
and for $25 registration you’ll get a
commemorative T-shirt. Mo Sistas also have an important role to play during
MOvember by helping to recruit Mo Bros, attending the gala partes and of
course, raising funds.
