Jingle fun run

During the holiday season there will be an ideal event to help the needy. It’s the annual Jingle Bell Walk/Run and plenty of family, friends and office mates will join in on 11 December for the fun event that helps victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

The Annual Jingle Bell Walk/Run is Cayman Islands Crisis Centre’s signature event and only fundraiser. This year’s event is hosted at Tiki Beach and will be fun for the whole family.

The event boasts a morning stretch with Santa Claus, a hot breakfast and the camaraderie will con-tinue after crossing the finish line with Vicki Wheaton, the MC, for the prize drawings. Anyone can walk or run the 5k or 10k. There will be prizes for the top three finishers in each of the 5K and 10K categories.  

The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre is a charitable organisation that provides safe, temporary shelter and support services for abused women and their children with education programmes regarding domestic abuse and sexual violence. The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre offers counselling, education, advocacy and community resources for women and children. In 2009 the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre provided safe harbour for 92 women and children and responded to 178 crisis calls regarding domestic abuse and sexual abuse.

The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre has had a heartfelt response from many corporations and businesses who have contributed prizes of hotel stays at the Grand Cayman Marriott, Westin Casuarina, Comfort Suites and more along with cer-tificates for dinner at Ragazzi and Pirates Den, clothing certificates from locations such as NKY and much more.

Pre-registration is easy and convenient all day on 17 November at Foster’s, Strand from 5-9pm, 20 November at Foster’s, Airport and Savannah, Kirk’s, Hur-ley’s, from 8am-5pm, 22 November-3 December at Regal Realty 10am-5pm, 1 December at Foster’s Strand, from 5-9pm and 4 December at Foster’s, Airport, Kirk’s, Hurley’s and Cost-U-Less from 8am-5pm.
