Krys runs too

Cayman businessman Ken Krys is happy to be supporting Tristan Miller’s 52 marathons in 52 weeks. For personal satisfaction and moral support, Krys is competing with Miller in the Ice Marathon in Antarctica on 12 December, a tortuous 100km slog.

“We are pleased to be selected as the major sponsor for Tristan’s record breaking accomplishment,” said Krys. “While other marathoners have run similar feats, none have attempted it on such a scale on a world-wide basis.

“For me personally to be involved in a venture of such magnitude shows the reach that running has around the world and the difference we can make. Tristan is clearly dedicated to meeting his goals and our team looks forward to being part of his ‘crazy’ effort in this regard.”

RunLikeCrazy, like many events Krys & Associates sponsors, is raising funds for charity. Facing Africa is an organisation dedicated to helping hundreds of thousands of children suffering the dreadful and shockingly destructive effects of NOMA – extreme malnutrition – and was the main beneficial charity for the inaugural Off The Beaten Track road race held on Grand Cayman last February.

“We hope while Tristan is in Cayman he can find time away from his training to speak with interested young people and running enthusiasts about the dedication and commitment it takes to reach one’s dreams,” added Krys. “We have partnered with the Cayman Islands Marathon to help us plan for this event and are excited to unveil more details in the upcoming months.”

Rhonda Kelly, Cayman Island Marathon race director, said: “It’s inspiring to have people get involved in our event to raise money for such good causes. We are thrilled Tristan chose to run the Cayman Islands Marathon.”
