Films focusing on the rich history and current plight of Haiti will be screened on Saturday and Sunday, 11 and 12 December, by the Cayman National Cultural Foundation.
CNCF will screen 17 films in the Studio Theatre on Saturday from 10am–2pm and 3-7pm. On Sunday show time is from 3–7pm. There is no charge; patrons may make a donation to relief efforts of the Cayman Islands Red Cross.
These will include feature films, shorts, documentaries and animated films, subtitled in English, Spanish and French. All films are by different writers from Haiti and from abroad, but they are all about Haiti.
Additionally, the 3rd Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase will take place in January, but none of the films showcased this weekend will be included in that repertoire.
