Cayman’s college football fans should be glued to their TVs this weekend. With three of Florida’s premier schools in action in bowl games, there’s plenty of pigskin drama in store.
Intrigue begins Friday 31 December as the Miami Hurricanes face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The squads are taking part in the Hyundai Sun bowl at 2pm on CBS. Miami head into the Texas match sporting a quarterback in Jacory Harris who has become the face of the programme after the firing of Randy Shannon.
Later on this evening the Florida State Seminoles take on the University of South Carolina in the Chick-fil-A bowl at 7.30pm on ESPN. Florida State is looking to rebound after missing out on the Atlantic Coast Conference championship and a spot in the Orange Bowl.
Finally on New’s Year Day the Florida Gators take on the Penn State Nittany Lions. Both schools go to battle in the Outback bowl at 1pm on ABC. The Tampa contest sees Urban Meyer coaching his final game at Florida after announcing his second (though probably not final) retirement from college football.
