Women’s basketball makes its return to the Cayman sports scene in roughly two weeks.
The Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association National Women’s Basketball League starts 30 January.
Put on by the Cayman Islands Basketball Association the competition is slated to run until March.
The Arts and Recreation Centre at Camana Bay is slated to host the competition, which has been ongoing for over a decade.
Heading into 2011 most eyes are on the Dominos Lady Heels.
Cayman’s female basketball dynasty, Dominos are the reigning champions after securing their fourth national title in six years last March.
Leading the Lady Heels was Finals Most Valuable Player Dionne Anglin.
Most of the buzz at the moment is on whether Dominos will claim another championship in the face of a number of challenges.
On the whole 2011 seems poised to be a very interesting one for local women’s basketball.
