American author, entrepreneur and USA Today columnist Rhonda Abrams will be this year’s keynote speaker at an annual event, Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs.
The event, now in its fifth year, will be at 4.30pm on 3 March at The Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort. It is held during Women’s Month by the Department of Commerce and Investment, and aims to encourage women to consider or retain business ownership.
Ms Abrams has started three successful companies and spent more than 15 years advising, mentoring and consulting entrepreneurs and small business owners across the United States.
Currently, she is president and chief entrepreneur of The Planning Shop, a publishing company creating content for small businesses. She uses her real-life experiences, among other things, to share the challenges and rewards of being an entrepreneur.
Her weekly newspaper column, Small Business Strategies, reaches more than 20 million readers through 130 newspapers. She is also the author of more than a dozen books on small business and entrepreneurship. Her books, translated into over 30 languages, have sold more than a million copies and have been adopted by more than 600 business schools throughout the US.
Ms Abrams’ books include: Successful Business Plan: Secrets & Strategies, as well as Six-Week Start-Up, Business Plan In A Day, What Business Should I Start? and Successful Marketing: Secrets & Strategies.
Ms Abrams, who lives in Palo Alto, California, was educated at UCLA and Harvard University.
