There’s creativity all around the Cayman Islands, as the Cayman Brac Heritage House continues to prove.
Coming up on Tuesday, 22 February is a session with Juliette Medeiros, says Saskia Edwards, assistant programme coordinator at the Heritage House.
“Mrs. Juliette is one of the wonderful artists and demonstrators involved in our Visitor Craft Session programme.
Originally from Ontario, Canada, Juliette has always nurtured her creative talents with unique designs featuring raw materials collected from the land and waterways nearby.
She tells us that moving to the Brac has inspired a deeper faith and spirituality in her. This in turn has led to a new level of creativity that she has never known before.”
Jewellery and artwork
Juliette’s artwork can be found at the Brac and Forth business as well as in various stores on the Brac and on Grand Cayman, “Most dear to her heart are her religious articles and carvings.
She enjoys planning and creating custom pieces for special occasions such as weddings, baptisms, birthdays and new home celebrations. Each piece features a hand-polished local treasure,” says Saskia.
The craft session runs from 3-5pm at the Alexander Hotel; in the past people have responded very positively to the experience, says Saskia.
“Those who join us for a craft session often state just how much they enjoy the class and compliment Mrs. Juliette on her work,” says Saskia.
