In acknowledging the FirstCaribbean’s second Bracken Bank of the Year title awarded by The Banker magazine, FirstCaribbean International Bank Managing Director Tom Crawford cited as main factors the bank’s efforts to help customers ride out the current economic tide while maintaining a strong corporate social responsibility strategy and overall solid performance in 2010.
“The global economic recession has impacted all types of business throughout The Cayman Islands and the entire region, with FirstCaribbean not being immune. During this period, we have sought to create avenues to enhance our shareholders’ return with social responsibility and providing our customers with banking solutions that will help them achieve what matters to them,” he said.
The Banker, published by the Financial Times of London, each year presents its Bracken Awards for banking excellence. Recipients of the award must demonstrate their ability to deliver shareholder returns and to gain strategic competitive advantage.
