GT eye double

The Cayman Islands Football Association FA Cup quarter-finals are on this weekend at the TE McField Sports Complex in George Town.

On Saturday, North Side who went into the quarter-finals following a discrepancy in the documentation submitted by Prospect during their first round game, will meet Academy at 5pm while at 7pm Tigers do battle with East End.

Defending champions George Town encounter Bodden Town at 7pm at this venue on Sunday after the staging of the 5pm game between Cayman Athletic and Roma United.

GT also won the Digicel Cup last season as well as this so they will be hard to beat in the FA Cup.

During the preliminary rounds Tigers defeated Premier League champions Elite 1-0 with a goal coming from Kirk ‘Busy Signal’ Rowe, aka Dancer in the 79th minute while East End surprised many against multiple-FA Cup champions Scholars International 4-3 on penalties after a 3-3 regulation time score.

Cayman Athletic turned back Future 5-1 to take their place, Roma set the sun on Sunset 3- 2 to secure their spot, Bodden Town dismissed Cayman Brac 3-1, Academy struck out Latinos FC 3-1 while the defending champions received a bye into this stage.
