Walker breezes past Ramasra


On day three of the Cedrus
Investments Cayman Open at the South Sound Club there were no surprises but
still lots of top level play to keep the crowd enthralled.

The men have reached the quarter-final
stage and it was 3-0 victories for Alister Walker of England who beat last
year’s winner Colin Ramasra of Trinidad and Tobago.

Walker, the world’s No.8 is
expected to make it to the final and meet former world No.1 Ramy Ashour of
Egypt on Saturday.

The other men’s match saw Guyana’s
Richard Chin breeze past Barbadian Gavin Cumberbatch.

In round one of the women’s draw,
Camille Serme of France beat Low Wee Wern (Malaysia), Ireland’s Madeline Perry
beat America’s Alison Waters over five games and Jenny Duncalf of England also
had to go five games to overcome New Zealand’s Joelle King.

Matches move to the glass court in
Camana Bay from Wednesday.
