Sir John A. Cumber Year 6 students John Smith and Kayley Smith recently wowed Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman chefs with their culinary skills and enthusiasm.
The students spent the day shadowing and assisting Executive Pastry Chef Rolf Runkel.
Chef John and Chef Kayley toured the pastry kitchen, made holiday chocolates, baked cookies and refined their chocolate writing skills.
They finished their day making cupcakes to take home and assisting Chef Rolf and the Ritz-Carlton pastry team prepare a display for a corporate group party on the Great Lawn.
“It is such a joy to work with the kids at Sir John A. Cumber Primary School,” said Tiffany Ebanks, coordinator of sales and marketing at the Ritz-Carlton. “The joy and excitement they bring anytime they participate in an activity is so great to see.”
The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is also involved in a Reading Buddies programme with the school, hospitality education programmes and beautification projects.
