Cydonie bursts out

Cydonie Mothersill got her season off to a fine start with a fast run at the Jamaica international Invitational in Kingston on Saturday. Mothersill came fifth in a high quality field that was won by Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser in 22.10 seconds. Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown was second in 22.87secs and Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie third in 22.78secs.

America Bianca Knight was one hundredth of a second ahead of Mothersill in 22.84secs who was running in her first serious race of the year, seven months after sensationally winning 200m gold at the Commonwealth Games in India.
